Newly diagnosed with AS

When I was about 15 years old I went to an orthopedic doctor who told me that when I reach 35 years old I'll end up in a wheelchair.

I was so angry about the thing he said to me and left crying to see another doctor who told me basically that the first doctor lied to me.

I had back pain almost every day but I thought it was because of my job as a waitress until I gave birth to my daughter.

Pain worse after giving birth

After the birth, my symptoms got so much worse that I struggled a lot even walking and the pain wasn't only on my back, it was almost everywhere.

After some visits to different orthopedics, one of them told me to see a rheumatologist and wrote me some medical exams. My HLA B27 blood test came back positive.

After almost a year of visiting doctors and hospitals, they finally came to the conclusion that it was AS.

Relieved at first

At first, I was relieved because I finally found out why am I in such pain, but now it's starting to get to me.

The only thing I want is to be able to lift my daughter up and play with her, to care for her.

It's my first week on Humira and a long journey.
