Things I Still Do With AxSpa!

I have previously written about a few of the things that I decided to stop doing with my AxSpa diagnosis, so I thought I would flip that idea on its head and share the things that I still do with AxSpa!

These are just things that I choose for my well-being, whether that be mental wellness or physical, and by no means should they be taken as what you should or should not do!

I still eat fast food, and it makes me happy

Can I have fries with that?

Yup, there’s no shame in my fast food game. I have trialed my symptoms with and without including fast foods and fried foods in my diet, and for me (in moderation) it doesn’t cause my symptoms to fluctuate out of my baseline. So while maybe it's not the greatest thing for overall health, it makes me happy and it's something I really enjoy, so the fast food stays!

I'm working on more movement, but sit still too much

This happens to be one that I have not stopped doing since my AxSpa diagnosis but I absolutely need to. I will often sit still for way too long. Whether that’s because of a longer Zoom call, or having an engaging conversation with someone and not wanting to interrupt or draw attention to myself I will often sit much longer than I can stand. This is something I’m working on adding to my list of things I no longer do!

I still carry my kids because they are precious to me

As my little babies have quickly turned into little people with big feelings, often in the day I find myself needing to carry a child, or two, from playground accidents to safety. And then there are moments in the day when my children aren’t requiring me to carry them, but I do it anyway. Sometimes it really makes me suffer, but they are so precious, and they get many of the trickle-down effects of my AxSpa...This is one way I get to stay close to them, so this one stays on my list too!

Anything that feels right

This one might seem obvious, but like these two lists I have created (read what I no longer do here), I find myself sometimes debating if I can or can’t do something based on if it's on my "good” or “bad” list. And the truth is, sometimes I do things I wouldn't otherwise do because sometimes we choose the consequences of some things when we are in a good place. And I think living and being honest in how we feel each day is the best way to live!

What are some things that are on your "still do" list?
