My Second Birthday With AxSpa

My second birthday being sick was thankfully a lot better than my first.

Plan for rest

I made a plan of what I wanted to do. I planned to rest in between so I could make the most of my birthday. I needed to incorporate rest so I could enjoy myself fully.

Last year I didn’t understand how or why I needed to listen to my body. Luckily, I now know how to make the most out of my energy levels and I could enjoy my birthday.

This year my birthday fell on a Monday. The Saturday before, I met my friends for dinner and drinks. This year I was able to enjoy my meal and have a few drinks. I really enjoyed myself. I still ended up going home earlier than my friends due to fatigue but at least this year I was able to stay for my birthday cake.

Reflecting back on my birthday last year

I felt a little emotional looking back at how sick I was last year.

The next day was Sunday. I spent this day resting all day, saving up some spoons for my actual birthday.

I woke up Monday morning and went for breakfast with my mam. We then visited my grandparents and went shopping. This year I had the energy to actually shop around and buy some nice clothes and make-up. Last year was a different story.

I came home and my boyfriend collected me. He gave me my presents and we collected our Chinese takeaway. We came home and ate with my family and had a few drinks. At this point my energy levels were low. I ate my food, had one beer, and went to bed.

It was party time

We had planned to have a party at home at the end of the week. I spent the week resting. I was so afraid that I would be too sick for my party.  We had a party at home on Sunday. This was during the bank holiday weekend so luckily my family had a day off work on Monday.

My week of rest worked. Well as much as it could work, I was still tired and sore, but I was ok.

My aunts, uncles, and cousins called over. Some of my friends and my brothers' friends came too. We had a lovely time. I was able to enjoy my food and drinks. I made some cocktails and even had a couple of dances!

Unfortunately, my body paid for this the next day. I felt like I was hit by a truck, and I was so tired. My tailbone and lower back felt like it was bruised. My shoulders and arms were stiff and in a lot of pain. But it was worth it!

It gets me thinking that maybe for my birthday next year I'll be feeling even better than I was this year! One can hope!
