Severe gastritis

I was wondering if anyone else has had stomach issues. I started out on the strongest NSAIDs. Wound up on just regular ibuprofen after years of use due to several bouts of gastritis. I got to the point where I not only had gastritis but had pain all the way up my throat and caused thrush in my mouth. At that point I stopped all NSAIDs. But I still have to have prednisone injections which cause the same results. I learned to take PPI meds twice a day which has prevented the thrush and throat issues but I still have problems with my stomach frequently. My rheumatologist seems to gloss over this but I was curious if anyone has run into anything similar.

  1. Thanks for reaching out. People with AS have an increased risk of developing gut issues and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). I thought I'd share a few articles that may provide some helpful insight: https://ankylosingspondylitis.net/symptoms/bowel-inflammation and https://ankylosingspondylitis.net/living/digestive-issues.
Sending you all my best for some much-needed answers and relief.
