NeoCane and any cane really

I’m excited about the AS awareness month give-a-way. It did get me to thinking about how I had to learn to embrace assistive devices as a teenager. I’ve had arthritis since single digits and yet, each stage started Grief again. Now I use a wheelchair as needed and it’s almost funny to me reflecting on my avoidance of and initial experiences with using a cane. Of course, most assumed I had I injured myself.

The neoCane looks pretty snazzy . Glad mobility and medical devices are slowly moving towards FASHION with function.

  1. Hi there!

I can completely relate to the repetitive cycles of grief and feeling hesitant to embrace assistive devices. I'm 22 years old and don't need a cane or wheelchair yet, but I think I will someday, and I hope I can get past the "embarrassment" and other difficult emotions associated with that transition.

I also think it's great that the NeoCane is fashionable! I've seen some wheelchair-using fashion models in recent years, which I hope is a step towards normalizing mobility aids.

I hope you are doing well and feel free to reach out anytime!
