How have you been sleeping recently?

How well are you sleeping?

The past few months I've been having trouble sleeping. The nights that I can sleep then I find difficult as I now have no sleep routine.

What helps you when you can't sleep?

  1. I have the exact same problem! I'm not sure if its my AS causing it or the irregularity of life this pandemic has brought with it but I am currently writing this at 3am UK time and I doubt I will be drifting off anytime soon!

Would be really interested to see if anyone has any good sleeping tips as my sleep pattern is in some drastic need of improvement!

    All the best,

    1. I'm a light sleeper and have been ever since the children were born. I can only just remember the bliss of sleeping eight hours undisturbed. When I was younger, I thought that was something you did your whole life. 😀
      Never mind though.
Like you I struggle to sleep but it's not just the AS, it's all the other things that go with it, the worrying about this and that. I lost my dear old mum in February and that seems to revisit me the most in the night at the moment. The other night I woke up with Gladys Knight singing 'The Best Thing' as clear as a bell, inside my head. It was the song my mum wanted played for her four children at her funeral.
I tend to have only one tactic that works well. I read. I read lots anyway, so I enjoy it, which helps. I’ve tried counting sheep, but that just makes me hungry. And lying in the dark with my eyes open just makes me whittle about the kids or the house or the job or the...
So, I grab a book and off I go. Fifteen minutes later I'm usually re-reading pages I've just read for the umpteenth time.
I hope you get a better night's sleep soon, Ali.
      Take care

      1. ,
I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom.
What a beautiful song choice for her funeral.

    2. Thank you, Doreen. She was 92, had a very good life. Travelled all over the world. Married 3 times, single for over 40 years. Loved a vodka. We spoke every day. 🙂

      1. Hi,
I was also facing the same sleep problem but the Zopiclone pill works well for my sleep problem. It is a sleeping pill that helps to sleep soundly and wake up refreshed to take on the day.
