Flares After Vaccination

Has anyone experienced new or worsening flare symptoms after getting a COVID-19 vaccine?

  1. Luckily I didn't experience any direct implications from getting either of my vaccination jabs. Although I was advised to stop taking my medication for a couple weeks before and after and a week or so after my second jab I could feel a bit of stiffness creeping back in but luckily when I restarted my injections it cleared it all up!

    1. I've had both my vaccines. The first one I was sick for about 10 days and then went into a flare. After the second vaccine I was less sick and only for about 3 days. But the flare that came after was awful. I wrote an article about this that you can read here https://axialspondyloarthritis.net/living/covid-vaccine-flare

      1. I just got the O.K. to get 1 of the vaccines after having to wait since I had a left hip replacement surgery done July 19 & the surgeon didn't want me to possibly have any reactions to any vaccines.
Now hearing about some people having after effects & concerning AS, I'm a little worried...ugh!

        1. Hey Anthony!

I get this question in my DM's sometimes from the article I wrote about it not too long ago. I did end up actually having some new symptoms pop up shortly after writing that one. I actually ended up developing scalp psoriasis and horrible arthritis in my hands, including trigger finger in my pinky. So, I got to add psoriatic arthritis onto my list of chronic illnesses! Whoopdeedo 😅 I can't say with 100% certainty that the vaccine caused it, but the timing was very suspicious!
