Changing biologics again

So the Rinvoq is apparently helping great with my inflammation levels but after breaking down again in the hospital they're going to change me to infusions. I'm running out of treatment plans and I'm frankly scared that I'll never get my life back. Any advice any kind words ..anything I don't care.

  1. Hi I signed on to this forum to ask if anyone is using Rinvoq and read your post. I have been on Simponi injectpen for years and it changed my life in positive ways, activity-wise and no pain. I've loved it. Sadly, I no longer qualify for copay assistance, can't afford it out of pocket of course, so I'm looking for an alternative med. Simponi Aria is an infusion I can consider ( I think insurance might help pay for most of it, not sure though) and I wondered about a daily pill Rinvoq. It sounds like of new and the side effects look pretty scary on their website. Sorry it isn't working for you, friend. Don't give up! Make good food choices to minimize inflammation, try to move if/when you can (light exercise/stretching), positive spiritual practices like prayer/meditation, ice the inflamed areas. Thanks for the forum to chat with fellow AS folks.

    1. will you change to remicade infusions or another infusion? my rinvoq was working so well then i had to stop taking it while i had covid.. it has never worked the same since then. i am getting worried also that i dont have much left

      1. Hi @Baga,

Just wanted to check up and see how your feeling. I am sorry to hear that rinvoq isn't working well as before. Have you tried other biologics? Sending you warm hugs,

    2. Hi @Nikkifriki
I am sorry to hear about all this. I can relate to what you feeling about medication not having a lot of options left. I can't take much of the biologics with TNF blockers due to the risk of getting more lesions. I know it feels like it's a scary, but the only way is trying something again. I have been on numerous medications and I know it get so so tiring always having to try something else. The last med switch I did, I was tired and scared. But it's the one that has helped me the most. And maybe this time it will be the one that will help you. I know lots that have great success taking the infusion way.

You are not alone. Please give us an update on how you are doing. We are here for support. I am thinking of you and sending you my best and praying that everything goes well.

      Sending you warm hugs,
